Alpine Casting Co. - Manufacturing Process



	After we receive a prototype from a designer, a work order is written and it starts its journey through the production process. All items in production travel with their own paperwork and are tracked within our computer system. We use two major methods of manufacturing. Lost Wax Casting is used for all high temperature metals such as Gold, Silver, Brass and Bronze. Spin Casting is used for Pewter. Lost Wax Casting is a longer, more labor intensive process and is therefore the more expensive of the two. The metals used are harder, more durable and can be cast thinner. Spin Casting is ideally suited to low cost decorative items. The lead free pewter we use has a nice white color, finishes well and has a great feel.
